Daystar Shemuel Shua Peterson (best known as Tory Lanez) is serving 10 years in prison for shooting fellow hip-hop star Megan Thee Stallion in 2020. Lanez opened fire on Megan after she mocked his musical talents during an argument, just as they were leaving a pool party hosted by Kylie Jenner at her Hollywood mansion.

During the incident, Lanez told Megan to "dance" after he started shooting at the ground. It's reported that the female hip-hop star had to undergo surgery to remove bullet fragments from her foot.

The trial commenced in December 2022 after months of delays, with Megan stating, "I can't believe I have to come here and do this."

Despite currently serving a 10-year prison sentence, Tory Lanez stood his ground during the trial and refused to apologize to Megan. Fellow stars, such as 50 Cent and Iggy Azalea, took sides in the argument, sparking further drama and debate on social media.
