Austria and Jordan will kick off their 2026 World Cup campaign when they meet on Wednesday at the Bay Arena in San Francisco, USA.

Austria is returning to the World Cup for the first time since 1998, while the Nashama are making their first-ever appearance in the tournament's history.

Match Preview

Austria shined and topped their group during the World Cup qualifiers. In their eight matches, they won six, drew one, and lost only one. Ralf Rangnick’s team didn't stop there, they kept their excellent form and managed to win three friendly preparation matches before the World Cup.

On the other hand, Jordan is considered the underdog in Group J by many analysts, as they are competing alongside Argentina, Algeria, and Austria.

In addition to that, the Jordanian team was not successful in their World Cup preparation camp. They drew two matches and lost two, with the latest being a 2-0 defeat against Colombia.
