ALBAWABA - Security teams in Jordan have recently carried out a dawn raid on Monday in the capital, Amman, targeting a residential apartment suspected of hosting illegal cosmetic procedures. The people involved were allegedly doing treatments using unapproved injections and preparations, as reported by Al Arabiya.

The raid was organized by the Food and Drug Administration in collaboration with the Royal Administration for Environmental Protection and the Capital Governorate. Complaints from concerned citizens led to the monitoring of the apartment, prompting swift action.

It was revealed that the apartment had been only in use for a short time, and yet during that time many cosmetic sessions still took place. This prompted immediate intervention from the authorities.

The Director General of the Foundation, Professor Dr. Nizar Mahmoud Mhaidat, disclosed that the people posing as dermatologists and plastic surgeons operated within the apartment, doing unauthorized cosmetic procedures.

These actions included the use of injections and preparations not approved by authorities.

Dr. Mhaidat also said that the raid was part of ongoing surveillance efforts led by pharmacist inspectors. Confiscated injections and preparations were secured for proper disposal, while legal proceedings have started against those responsible for the apartment.

The Foundation reiterated its commitment to protect public health and warned of severe penalties for anyone jeopardizing the well-being of citizens. It urged people to seek cosmetic treatments exclusively from licensed medical institutions supervised by qualified professionals, using approved medications and supplies.
