For the love of Syria! Jordanian dad names his kids Sham, Suriya, Jumhurriya, and Arabiya

A Jordanian man in Amman wanted to expess his love for Syria - so he named his kids after the country.

Mohammed Khalil Shaheen's four daughters are named Sham (an old name for Syria and Damascus), Suriya (Syria in Arabic), Jumhurriya (republic), and Arabiya (Arabic). Shaheen, who was born in 1966, grew up in Damascus and wanted to express his great love for the Syria that he knew.

Shaheen added that his wife is now pregnant with a boy. The upcoming child's name? Dimashq, the Arabic name for Damascus.
