A heart-warming video that's going viral on Twitter shows a Syrian refugee being reunited with his daughter.
The father surprised his daughter in a home goods store in Germany by walking past his daughter, whose name is Maria, while pretending to talk on the phone.
"Hello, yes I want to see Maria, where is Maria?" he says into the phone. "I will see Maria with God's will. Oh! There she is! Maria!"
At that point, the two embrace while sentimental music plays in the background. You can watch the video below:
The identities of the family could not be verified at the time of writing.
The video was tweeted on Monday by Tareq Thelji, a social media specialist. Since then, the post has been retweeted over 940 times and gotten over 420 likes. However, others tweeted the video last month and received an even larger number of retweets. (See here for the tweet.)
Images of emotional Syrian refugees have gone viral ever since the refugee crisis reached new heights last year. A photo of a 33-year-old refugee selling pens in the streets of Beirut while holding his sleeping daughter was shared by millions in 2015.
And in August, a photo of a Syrian father hugging his daughter after an arduous boat journey across the Mediterranean was covered in the international media.
