Iran has been "monkeying around" a lot this year, in space that is.
The Persian nation launched two monkeys into space over the past year, and both have returned to Tehran safely with the second monkey's arrival home this past weekend, according to Reuters.
President Hassan Rouhani used his Twitter account to share the news Saturday, saying that the furry friend Fargam has returned from space "safe and sound."
However, Western powers have their "fur" all in a fluff about Tehran's monkeying around, saying that the out-of-world missions will be used to develop the country's ability to use long-range ballistic technology to attack its enemies on earth.
"If it's true [about the monkey], [this shows that Iran] continue[s] to expand and grow their long range missile capabilities regardless of their overture to the West with self reduction of their nuclear capabilities," US missile defense expert Riki Ellison said.
Iran, however, continues to insist that its animal space launches are not linked to such developments.
