Malaysian delegation calls on Al Habtoor Group

A delegation from Malaysia called on senior executives of the Al Habtoor Group at the Group’s head office on Thursday, October 18.

Dato’ Ahmad Anwar Adnan, Malaysian Ambassador to the UAE and Ahmed Fadil Shamsuddin, Malaysian Consul General, held talks with Paul Rayner, Advisor to the Chairman; KP Rajan, Group Financial Advisor and Sanjeev Agarwala, Director Strategy & Business Development.

The visit was aimed at mutual cooperation, deepening relations and potential investment opportunities in the South East Asian nation, especially in the hospitality and tourism sectors.

Paul Rayner said, “The Malaysian ambassador has invited the Al Habtoor Group to invest in Malaysia. We are considering several opportunities in the Asia-Pacific region, including Malaysia.”

“The country has ambitious plans to achieve its national vision by 2020 in the line with the UAE’s 2020 plan,” he added.

Malaysia's economy grew 5.1 per cent in 2011 and is expected to grow between 4.5-5.5 per cent in 2013, according to official data.
