AHG launches a blood donation campaign in support of ‘My Blood for My Country’ initiative

The Al Habtoor Group has launched a blood donation campaign in collaboration with Dubai Blood Donation Centre (DBDC), part of the Dubai Health Authority. The initiative, "My Blood for My Country" was launched by HH Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai.
Senior administrative officials and staff from the Al Habtoor Group joined employees from the Habtoor Grand Hotel to participate in the campaign on Sunday, January 6th.
Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor, Chairman of the Group, stressed that the campaign was aimed at emphasizing the importance of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and promoting the humanitarian aspect of the "My Blood for My Country" campaign. He said that blood donation is a noble humanitarian act that contributes to saving the lives of many patients who are in need of blood transfers.
A large number of Al Habtoor Group employees from various countries donated blood in the campaign that was organized at the Group's head office. A fully-equipped van was set up by the Dubai Blood Donation Centre. The medical staff emphasized the importance of blood donations and provided donors with advice and medical support.
The donors were required to fill out a questionnaire and were tested for hemoglobin, blood pressure and blood quality to ensure that they met the required standards for blood donation. The entire process took about 20 minutes.
The campaign was inspired by verse 32 of Surah 5: "And whoever saves one - it is as if he had saved mankind entirely".
