Prominent Syrian actor Salma Al Masri will take part in an Egyptian drama for the first time in her career in the new drama “Arees Delivery” (A groom by delivery), alongside Egyptian comedian actor Hani Ramzi.
In the drama, Salma will play the role of one of Hani’s wives. Salma said that her character is a wealthy woman who lends Hani’s character large sums of money, which he cannot repay. Salma offers to marry Hani to clear his debts, despite the fact that she is much older, and he agrees.
According to the internet website MBC.net, Salma revealed that at first she was afraid to play the role, since it is in the Egyptian accent, but after filming several scenes she was able to master the accent. The drama is a comedy and tackles different social and financial issues, said Salma.
Salma also said that she is glad to have the opportunity to work with Hani, which encouraged her to accept the leading role.
The drama will be aired during the 2011Ramadan season and was written by Hamdi Yousif and directed by Ashraf Salem. A number of Egyptian stars appear in the drama like Nihal Anbar, Halah Fakher, Enjy Ghanem, Ahmad Sayyam and Lutfi Labeeb.
