The outgoing minster for sports and youth of the federal government of Somalia Mohamed Abdullah Hassan Nuh and his main rival candidate Ahmed Irro were disqualified from the lower house election.

Federal Indirect Electoral Implementation team (FIEIT) said minister Nuh and Irro have been banned from competing for the seat of their clan for involving electoral violence in Jowhar 18 November.

Somalia's Federal Indirect Electoral Implementation Team (FIEIT), has instructed Hir-Shabelle electoral body put the order into practice and ask Jidle clan chief to replace both candidates with new ones.

Security guards of Somali minister of youth and sports and his contender have disrupted voting for the lower house chamber and forced delegates and officials to leave the meeting hall in Jowhar last month.
