Former Roma boss Jose Mourinho has revealed he is open to coaching in the Saudi Pro League.

The sacked Roma boss held talks with Al-Shabab in recent months.

He managed to lead the Italian club to the UEFA Europa Conference League title in 2022, and the Europa League final that they lost to Sevilla a year later.

The Portuguese spoke to Fabrizio Romano and said: "Cristiano Ronaldo opened the doors to that world in football terms.

"When the offer came to me it was a very important financial proposal, but I rejected it because for Roma and European football were more important to me.

"In the future, never say never, but at the moment I won't sign any contract because I have to make the best decision first.

"I want to start again. Sometimes when your adventure in a club ends you need to rest and think, but in this case already the day after I left the Rome club I was ready to start again.

"I feel good, I love the job and I'm ready, but I don't want to make the wrong choice, I can't accept a job just because I'm passionate or because I feel ready.

"I have to be patient, we're in March and usually It's difficult for anything to happen this month, so my goal is to start again in the summer."

Mourinho has also been linked with taking over at Bayern Munich.
