Jeddah celebrate World Autism Awareness Day with cycling marathon

The Jeddah Autism Center, a subsidiary of Al Faisalya Women Welfare Society, held a Cycling Marathon to celebrate World Autism Awareness Day under the slogan #Altouhdi_kman_draj (#autistics_ are also_ cyclists) on Saturday.

Hosted by King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC), the marathon aimed to raise awareness about autism and promote abilities and skills of autistics to boost them and their families in the challenge against autism.

Princess Fahda Bint Saud Bin Abdul Aziz, president of Al Faisalya Women Welfare Society, expressed her pleasure with autism center students in their bid to overcome the isolation barrier and participate in many local and international events where they achieved levels of excellence.

She also commended the work team and Friends of Autism volunteer group and their cooperation in all autism center activities and programs.

Princess Fahda expressed thanks to KAEC, which endorses social responsibility along with effective support to empower students for more achievements and harnessed all the possibilities for the success of the event.

She emphasized her gratitude to all supporters and their efforts that reflects youth enthusiasm in volunteering and philanthropy to spread the culture of cycling to keep healthy life and highlight autism awareness.

These groups were Jeddah Cyclist Group, Darrajati Group, Hijaz Cyclist Group, Makkah Cyclist Group, Yanbu Cyclist Volunteer Group, Yanbu Cyclist National Group, House of Lens Volunteer Group, Dr. Soliman Fakieh Hospital, Wheels and Sport Season, Enterprise Fun, Babel Nation, Destination Jeddah."

Jeddah Autism Center hopes to make a remarkable change in autistic children life especially by celebrating World Autism Awareness Day to raise awareness about autism issues and as an opportunity to move and provide assistance to them, which enhances the global position of the Kingdom being part of the campaign that will be presented in global report of organizations working in the field of autism.
