ALBAWABA - Taliban's Deputy Spokesman announced Monday that Pakistan carried out airstrikes against Afghanistan on Sunday night, resulting in the death of at least 36 people.
Hamdullah Fitrat wrote on X, "In last night's attacks, a total of 36 ordinary civilian residents—including children and women—have been martyred so far, and 163 others wounded."
He maintained that Pakistan targeted Paktia, Paktika, and Kunar provinces in Afghanistan. Adding that three large homes were completely destroyed in the Islamabad attacks on June 28.
Fitrat said that most deaths occurred in Mandukhel village, related to the Zamkani district of Paktia province, with 28 people killed and 158 others were injured.
He wrote regarding Mandukhel village, "Pakistani jet aircraft bombed a civilian home, resulting in one elderly man and one child from the home being martyred, and other family members wounded. However, the villagers who had gathered for rescue efforts were bombed a second time, in which 28 villagers were martyred, and 158 others were wounded."
The government's spokesperson, Zabihullah Mujahid, posted images of injured children in the attacks and said via X, "Crime and Aggression: Last night, the Pakistani military once again carried out airstrikes on civilian areas in Gayan District of Paktika Province, Tsamkani District of Paktia Province, and Manogai District of Kunar Province, Afghanistan."
