The USMNT successfully finished the job and beat Bosnia-Herzegovina 2-0 at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, in the Round of 32 of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The American team was the better and stronger side in the match. The Bosnian team couldn't take advantage of the extra man and didn't make any real threat.

From the start of the game, the differences were clear, and the American team was in control. They pressed and attacked until they opened the scoring in the 45th minute of the first half through Folarin Balogun.
At the start of the second half, the first ten minutes were quiet. Both teams passed the ball around the midfield without any real threat to either goal. But things suddenly changed after a hard tackle by Balogun. Brazilian referee Raphael Claus checked the VAR and showed Balogun a red card.
The Bosnian team made several attacking substitutions, but it didn't work. The American team stayed strong mentally and physically. At their first real chance, they doubled the score with a direct free kick scored by Malik Tillman in the 82nd minute.
With this result, the USMNT goes through to the Round of 16 to face Belgium next Tuesday at the Seattle stadium.
