Borussia Dortmund are to head to Dubai in the United Arab Emirates for a winter training camp early next year, the Bundesliga club said Thursday.
"We wanted to set a new focus for the team after several years of spending part of the year in Spain," sport director Michael Zorc said on the club homepage.
Dortmund will be in Dubai January 7-16 with their Bundesliga campaign resuming away to Borussia Moenchengladbach on January 23.
Dortmund claim to have rejected "lucrative" offers for friendly matches in other countries because of human rights concerns but are to play two matches, yet to be decided, on their trip to the UAE.
