Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has sent a message of support to the children of Syria.

The Middle Eastern country has been in the midst of a bloody civil war since 2011, with recent atrocities in Aleppo gaining particular media attention as civilians have been targeted and killed.

The Ballon d’Or winner has sent them an Instagram post of hope as he takes time off from his duties with the European and world champions to rest over the winter break.

A message of hope to the children affected by the conflict in Syria.

Ronaldo, 31, in particular spoke to the children of the war-torn country, describing them as “heroes” and reminding them that they are still in the world’s thoughts.
