Russian police have blocked the streets of central Moscow on Saturday, July 27, 2019, and arrested over 1,300 demonstrators with a goal to blunt a protest over the fairness of coming city elections.

Protesters were chanting “We love Russia! They love money!” referring to government corruption.

The demonstrates were the latest in a series of street demonstrations staged as President Vladimir V. Putin’s approval ratings have dipped amid economic hardship.
