United States President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump hosted French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife, Brigitte, Tuesday at the first official White House state dinner. Earlier, the Trumps welcomed the Macrons in a traditional state arrival ceremony on the South Lawn of the White House. The two leaders later held a joint news conference, where they took questions from reporters. Trump criticized the Iran deal during the news conference, as did Macron but who is trying to salvage the 2015 nuclear agreement made between the United States, European countries and Russia with Tehran. Macron is on an official state visit that begun Monday and will end on 25 April, 2016.
