The Meeting of the Two Koreas

Published April 28th, 2018 - 12:16 GMT

The meeting of the two Korean leaders on the border between the two countries at the village of Panmunjom, Friday April 27, 2018, represents a historical opportunity to end the last vestiges of the Cold War where the potential for nuclear exchange continues to raise alarm.  Both Kim Jong Un of North Korea and his counterpart in the South President Moon Jae-in were in jovial mood to set aside their differences and work for a rapprochement towards the denuclearisation of the Korean peninsula.  The meeting at the military demarcation line, dividing both countries was warm and emotional and represents a political process of peace between them.
