ALBAWABA - For the last couple of hours, activists and human rights groups have been circulating the name "Shahram Sadeghi," a man who was hanged by the Iranian government for allegedly being involved in January protests.
According to Iran's online website, Mizan, Shahram Sadeghi was sentenced to death on Sunday for "carrying out operational actions in support of the United States and the Zionist regime."
The Iranian website continued, "He was executed this morning."

On January 8, Shahram Sadeghi ran over several police officers during anti-government protests with his car in the city of Karaj, injuring seven police personnel.
He was nicknamed by activists as "death car driver", considering that after the incident, Sadeghi escaped the scene and then set his car on fire.
The number of executions carried out by the government in Iran witnessed an increase since the start of the Middle East war.
On the other hand, the UN released a report last month condemning the Islamic Republic for issuing death sentences without fair trials and executing at least 24 people in 2026 in connection with the January protests, urging Iran to stop executions.
