ALBAWABA - House Oversight Committee's Democratic members recently claimed that US President Donald Trump "knew about the girls," citing an email written by Jeffrey Epstein to American journalist Michael Wolff in 2019.
According to AFP, the committee released three emails on Wednesday, including one Epstein wrote to his wife, Ghislaine Maxwell, in 2011, which revealed that Trump "spent hours" at Epstein's house with one of the sex trafficking victims.
Epstein also wrote in the email, "that dog that hasn’t barked is Trump," and that he hasn't once been mentioned in the case.
Trump 'knew about the girls': New Epstein email raises questions
The victim, whom the Democrats first censored in the email, was identified as Virginia Giuffre, who accused Epstein of arranging sexual encounters with many of his friends, as reported by AP.
Before her passing earlier this year, Giuffre claimed that Trump wasn't among the men who exploited her, stating further that they only met once when she used to work at a spa at his Mar-a-Lago club in Florida. Additionally, Giuffre added that she met Trump through her father and that he "couldn’t have been friendlier."
However, the recent emails have sparked a flood of furious comments on social media from users demanding the release of the Epstein files once again, with many calling for Trump's impeachment.
Jeffrey Epstein committed suicide while serving time in a New York jail in 2019. At the time, Epstein was awaiting a trial on federal charges.
Trump and Leavitt respond to the Democrats
In response to the recent emails, Trump took to his official Truth Social account and wrote, "In other words, the Democrats are using the Jeffrey Epstein Hoax to try and deflect from their massive failures, in particular, their most recent one — THE SHUTDOWN!"
Additionally, White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt also responded to the emails and accused the Democrats of attempting to tarnish Trump's image.
