ALBAWABA - Jordanians have been shocking in the horrific crime that happened in the Sweifieh area in the capital, Amman, in which a young man, named Fahed Abu Shayeb, was killed.

Fahed was attacked by multiple people on Saturday, injured, then transferred to a hospital, but he unfortunately succumbed to his wounds.

What's the story of Fahed Abu Shayeb?

Yasser Abu Shayeb, the father of the victim, said that his son was brutally assaulted after the attackers stole his mobile phone, before they beat him all over his body.

He added that witnesses confirmed that at least nine people participated in the attack, taking turns beating his son until he lost consciousness, before fleeing the scene.

He explained that Fahed was taken to the hospital in critical condition, but he died from a severe skull fracture and bleeding, despite the doctors' attempts to save him.

The competent judicial authorities in Jordan are continuing their intensive investigations into the murder of Jordanian youth, Fahed Abu Shaib, a case that has sparked widespread public outcry in Jordan. 

Initial investigations have revealed new details about the crime, which claimed the life of a student who was preparing to take his high school graduation exams (Tawjihi) to improve his grades.

The Public Prosecutor for Major Crimes has ordered the detention of 17 suspects in connection with the case. Initial information indicates that three girls were among those arrested.

Investigations are ongoing to gather further evidence, identify all those involved and their respective roles, and ultimately take the necessary legal action against them.
