ALBAWABA - Delcy Rodriguez, who replaced ousted Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro after his capture by U.S. Delta Forces on Jan. 3, swore in on Monday as the acting President of Venezuela.
Nicolas Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, were taken from their home in the Venezuelan capital, Caracas, by the U.S. army, and they were brought to New York, where the couple are facing trial on charges of drug and weapons.
Price of Delcy Rodriguez's dress sparks anger among Venezuelans
Delcy Rodriguez, 56, who was the Vice President of Maduro, has become the talk of the internet after her latest appearance while swearing in as the interim president due to her expensive light green dress from the Italian brand, Chiara Boni La Petite Robe.
Rodriguez swore in her new position wearing a dress worth about $742 from the Italian designer, Chiara Boni, which, according to many, is one of the most expensive in the world today.
An X user wrote, "The dress that Delcy Rodríguez wore to take office costs 742 USD. The minimum wage is 130 bolivars, equivalent to 0.42 USD. To save 742 USD: 742 / 0.42 = 1,767 months. That is, in Venezuela, to buy that dress, you'd take 147 years (without even spending on food). This is what the chavistas defend."

Rodriguez's Triwan dress is currently being sold on various international fashion websites, with prices varying depending on the retailer.
On platforms like Farfetch, which specializes in online luxury clothing, the dress is listed with an original price of £673 (approximately $910 ) and is currently discounted to £485 (around $655 ).
At the Saks Fifth Avenue online store, the same design is discounted to $253.
