ALBAWABA - The family of Israeli-German Shani Louk, 22, who was taken as a hostage during the Hamas Al-Aqsa Flood operation on Oct. 7, confirmed that she died in Gaza.

Louk’s mother Ricarda tells the German outlet RTL that she was informed that her daughter died in Gaza.

She said: "Unfortunately we received the news yesterday that my daughter is no longer alive."

A video on Oct. 7 circulated online showing Shani Louk lying in the back of a pickup truck in Gaza and surrounded by Palestinian fighters.

Her family said to recognize their daughter after the video was shared on social media as she was one of the hostages taken while attending a party near the border with the Gaza Strip.

Times of Israel reported that Israeli-German Shani Louk has been declared dead, but her body has not been returned from Gaza.

Days ago, Abu Obaida, the spokesperson for the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, announced the death of about 50 hostages due to Israeli airstrikes on the Gaza Strip, al-Jazeera reported.

Hamas declared to have captured around 200 to 250 in the Al-Aqsa Flood operation on Oct.7.
