ALBAWABA - An investigation by 2News recently revealed that a valuable surveillance video of the Charlie Kirk murder case has gone missing, sparking widespread debate on social media.
The surveillance footage in question was regarding suspected killer Tyler Robinson, who turned himself in to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office after allegedly shooting Kirk during an event at the campus of Utah Valley University.
2News filed a public request alongside the Washington County Sheriff's Office for two videos: one of Robinson entering the Washington County jail and the other of him being held in a room.

A records officer with the Sheriff's Office wrote, "We do not have any records responsive to this portion of the request, as Tyler Robinson did not go to or enter the jail area." Additionally, the holding room video was denied.
The outlet requested the footage a few weeks later. However, a records officer said, "Our office does not have any applicable records responsive to this request, as the surveillance footage is no longer available after the 30-day retention period."
When asked if the video had been shared with law enforcement, the department denied sharing it with any agencies.
In response to the investigation, Candace Owens took to X (formerly Twitter) and wrote, "You honestly cannot make this up…"
She added, "Footage of Tyler Robinson turning himself into police does not exist. The footage simply does not exist anymore or…maybe it never existed in the first place. You decide!"
A social media user responded, "When footage disappears this conveniently, it raises bigger questions than it answers. Either it never existed… or someone made sure we’d never see it."
Owens has been investigating Kirk's assassination since the incident occurred. She recently dropped an episode linking Kirk's death to the Crossing Of The Delaware.
His organization, Turning Point USA, gained traction on social media thanks to similar events as Kirk took to several universities across the US to debate students about their political and religious views. Due to the channel's controversial nature, Kirk's debates garnered millions of views.
