ALBAWABA - The Yemeni military organization, Houthis recently made headlines after targeting local women residing in Yemen by camouflaging a pink cosmetic bag with a bomb that explodes on contact, according to Saudi Arabia's Project Masam.
The Saudi-led project launched in 2018 with the motto "Life... Without Mines," aims to clear Yemen from landmines and "create a safe space to allow basic humanitarian and reconstruction activities."

Masam shared a statement accusing the Houthis of targeting women and civilians in the city of Taiz, located in southwest Yemen, by placing a pink cosmetic bag that contains a single mine with a newly developed electric detonation device that uses a battery.
Photos of the bag swarmed the internet sparking widespread outrage among human rights activists and individuals.
Arif Al-Qahtani, the Brigadier General and Project Masam's supervisor in Taiz revealed that his team managed to successfully dismantle and secure the detonative device. He stated further that this a new tactic being developed by the Houthis, is in hopes of targeting more innocent civilians including women.
Al-Qahtani also warned civilians to refrain from getting close to ordinary objects placed suspiciously on roads and put emphasis on the Houthis adopting new camouflage tactics.
