The Yemeni Foreign Ministry has nominated the Cultural Attaché at the Yemeni embassy in Cairo to hold the position of the Arab League's Assistant Secretary General.
According to diplomatic sources in Sanaa, Foreign Minister Abu-Bakr Al-Qerbi has sent a message to the League's Secretary General Amr Mousa in this regard, SABA news agency reported Thursday. Eight other Arab countries have reportedly filed nominations for the post, namely: Algeria, Egypt, Iraq, Kuwait, Libya, Morocco, Somalia, and Syria.
Mousa is due to hold consultations on the nominations with Arab foreign ministers attending an ordinary meeting in the Egyptian capital. (Albawaba.com)
