ALBAWABA - A Chinese video creator has unveiled a long-awaited dream by many people -- a rideable flying sword.

Vlogger Fan Shisan has always been inspired by wuxia (martial arts) fiction to create a sword which can be carried, but also to communicate with its master.

The Chinese influencer was born in the 1990s, and he runs a tech studio in Pidu district, Chengdu, southwest China's Sichuan province.

He has more than 40 swords and blades of different shapes and materials placed on the walls of his studio.

Fan said, "I grew up reading wuxia novels". He was seen in the video wearing black and carrying a long sword, and has cultivated a distinctive personal image.

"I have always wanted to bring those moves into the real world—not with special effects, but through science," the Chinese influencer added.

His dream to create a real-life "sword qi" came closer to true when he collaborated with researchers at the School of Science, Xihua University, utilizing advanced technologies such as a schlieren imaging system and an ultra-high-speed camera capable of capturing up to 130,000 frames per second.
