Twenty-eight people, including nine children, were killed after torrential rains caused floods in several regions of Yemen, the interior ministry said Monday.
Thirteen people were killed last week in the southwestern province of Taiz and the western province of Hudaidah as well as in Hadramout in southeast Yemen. According to AFP, fifteen more died in recent weeks in other areas of the country, the ministry said.
"Hundreds of acres" (hectares) of cultivated land were also damaged by the floods, the ministry said in a report. (Albawaba.com)
