Bahrain and Yemen agreed Thursday to boost cultural cooperation particularly in the spheres of archaeology, museums and preservation of manuscripts and historical sites and cities, said Bahrain Tribune Friday.
The two countries also agreed to exchange cultural weeks and exhibitions.
The daily added that the steps were agreed upon during talks in Sana' between Bahraini minister of cabinet affairs and Information, Mohammed Al Mutawa, and the Yemeni Minister of Culture and Tourism, Abdul Malik Mansour.
The two ministers also reviewed bilateral relations and means of promoting cultural and tourism cooperation.
The two sides agreed to encourage the competent bodies to launch tourism promotion campaigns in order to highlight the tourist attractions of both countries and to encourage travel and tourism agencies to prepare and promote joint tourism programs and exchange tourist groups, said Yemeni News Agency Thursday.
It was also agreed to exchange delegations and experts specializing in tourism activities and to encourage co-operation in the spheres of training and rehabilitation.
The two countries will set up a committee to prepare a framework for the tourism cooperation programs and another for cultural cooperation, before the agreements are signed - (Several Sources)
