The Or Commission investigating the killing of 13 Arab Israelis during pro-Intifada protests in October began Monday to hear testimonies regarding the events at Kafr Manda in the beginning, in which Ramez Bushnak was killed, reported Haaretz.

One of the witnesses who appeared before the commission, director of the education department in the Kafr Manda council, Ali Zeidan, said that when he tried to talk to police officers to separate between them and the demonstrators, one of the officers told him “I shoot only live bullets, so they will die.”

Zeidan told the police officer “you are killing people,” and was answered “I came here to kill people.” A short while later Bushnak was shot to death, probably by a live bullet.

Another witness, Ali Taha, Kafr Manda’s security officer was quoted by the paper as saying that he also tried to talk to two policemen. One of them shot two rubber-coated steel bullets at him from a distance of five meters, injuring his legs.

The brothers of Bushnak, Hilmi and Rafa, testified that they saw their brother collapse at the gas station at the entrance to the village, and saw a large wound in the back of his neck from which he lost a great amount of blood. According to medical evidence, police shot live and rubber-coated bullets at demonstrators in Kafr Manda during the three days of protests, said the report – Albawaba.com
