Welcare Hospital announced today that it has signed an agreement with Emirates World Heart to help provide free urgent cardiac surgery to poor and needy patients. Emirates World Heart will identify patients eligible and in need of the operations in coordination with Welcare and its cardiac specialists.

“Emirates World Heart is providing a unique and valuable lifesaving service to needy people across the region and looks to compassionate partners such as Welcare World Health Systems for support. Our commitment to care at all levels of health, including care for those less fortunate in communities near and far, assured our eager participation in this effort,” said Vidur Kaushik, CEO Welcare World Health Systems.

Michael Stroud, CEO of Welcare Hospital, said, “As the first private hospital in the country to provide total ‘heart-care’ solutions, including interventional cardiology and cardiac surgery, we are pleased to be able to put our world-class doctors and facilities at the service of this noble cause.”

Emirates World Heart, established by Dr. Adel Al Shamry, a renowned consultant in cardio thoracic surgery at Sheikh Zayed Military Hospital, is a UAE-based nonprofit foundation that works with local and international medical staff under the umbrella of the UAE Red Crescent to provide urgent cardiac surgery to needy patients around the world. The organization also offers surgical training, assistance with diagnostic procedures and consultations, and provides educational programs in the field.
