ALBAWABA - The continuing conflict between Tehran and Tel Aviv became more intense on Thursday as a fresh round of Iranian missile missiles hit the city. A video that has gone viral on social media shows the dramatic moment when many Iranian missiles fell in the city at various locations, followed by strong explosions.
Several Locations in Central Israel Are Targeted
According to Israeli media, Iran fired three waves of ballistic missiles in a 24-hour period, allegedly aiming at seven separate sites in central Israel. In response, the Israeli military countered what it called "continuous threats" by turning on air defense systems, including missile interception capabilities.
According to local accounts, a missile struck a residential building in Tel Aviv, causing it to catch fire. Although emergency personnel raced to the site, it is still unknown how many people were killed or injured.
A sizable fire close to the Ministry of Defense's Tel Aviv headquarters was also reported by Channel 13. Air raid sirens sounded in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, indicating the increasing ferocity of the assaults, and thick plumes of smoke were seen rising over the city's high-rises.
Israeli insiders informed Channel 12 that the government is planning a retaliatory reaction to the attacks, which may include attacking Iranian civilian targets. "Iran will pay a heavy price for attacking central Israel," one insider said.
Preliminary estimates indicate that Iran fired some 150 missiles in this most recent onslaught, one of the largest barrages in the current war to date.
With both sides threatening more retaliation, the recent surge in missile attacks represents a risky escalation in hostilities. While emergency personnel continue to survey the damage, residents in impacted regions are still under shelter orders.
