A U.S. Army Apache attack helicopter was shot down Thursday in western Iraq, apparently by hostile fire, a military statement said, according to AP. The helicopter's two crew members were not injured.
US occupation troops were able to quickly recover the crew and secure the crash site, according to the statement from the U.S. Central Command.
Elsewhere, US jets bombed what the American military called "a terrorist training camp" in central Iraq. The site that was attacked is located some 160 kilometers north of Baghdad. A firefight then broke out, and one US soldier was slightly injured. (Albawaba.com)
