Alvaro de Soto, United Nations Secretary General's special adviser on Cyprus, was to return to the island Sunday for Tuesday's joint meeting with the Greek Cypriot and the Turkish Cypriot sides, which marks the resumption of the direct talks, following a short break, according to CNA.
De Soto was in New York, where he briefed the Security Council with regards to the course of the six-month long talks, which began in January this year between President Glafcos Clerides and Turkish Cypriot leader Rauf Dentkash. (Albawaba.com)
