ALBAWABA - According to Reuters, Ukrainian troops were seen breaking through the Russian borders via the Russian city of Belgorod.
Russian Telegram channels with links to the security services said that Ukrainian forces attacked the borders near Belgorod. Despite having no official confirmation at first, Belgorod Governor, Vyacheslav Gladkov, confirmed the attacks via his Telegram channel
"According to the Russian Defense Ministry, the situation on the border remains difficult but controlled. Our military personnel are carrying out routine work. Please remain calm and trust only official sources of information," Gladkov stated.
During the August 6 invasion, Ukrainian forces seized lands in the Kursk region, a bordering city of Belgorod. Approximately 500 Ukrainian forces have been reported to have stormed two Russian checkpoints in the Belgorod area at Nekhoteyevka and Shebekino, according to the Mash Telegram channel.
These reports coincide with Russia launching yet another round of attacks on Ukraine, one day after one of its largest airstrikes of the conflict.
Early on Tuesday, Ukrainian monitors saw Russian planes firing hypersonic missiles, prompting the issuance of air raid alerts. Reports of widespread drone strikes also exist. According to Ukraine's air defense forces, a ballistic weapon attack might potentially threaten the whole nation.
Long-range air and sea-based precision weapons have been deployed to target power plants and related infrastructure throughout Ukraine, particularly in Kyiv, Lviv, the Kharkiv, and Odesa areas, according to a statement from the Russian Ministry of Defense.
