An official Emirati delegation with representatives from the private and public sectors will visit Morocco on July 23, reported the Gulf News.
Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the deputy ruler of Dubai and UAE minister of finance and industry, will lead the high-level delegation, Moroccan embassy officials in the UAE told the paper.
The delegation’s visit is at the invitation of Prince Al Moulay Rasheed, brother of King Mohammed of Morocco, the officials said.
They said talks with Morocco would revolve around the inauguration of Emirates airline flights, cooperation with Jebel Ali Free Zone, ties between the Moroccan and UAE chambers of commerce, and a proposal for a UAE, GCC and Moroccan commercial navigation route.
"The UAE and Morocco had earlier discussed cooperation on several similar fields. We now want specialization. The UAE has set up a free trade zone with Morocco. Morocco wants the [Jebel Ali Free Zone]'s technical and administrative assistance in setting up its own local free zones. Morocco wants to manufacture, market and re-export like Jebel Ali Free Zone," said one official - Albawaba.com
