The Central Bank of the United Arab Emirates will mark the anniversary of the unification of the UAE Armed Forces by issuing a commemorative silver coin of Dh50 denomination and one dirham coin, Khaleej Times reported.
The face of the commemorative coin depicts the portrait of the President, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and the denomination. The obverse side of both coins depicts the logo of the occasion.
According to the Dubai-based paper, the commemorative coin will be available at banks at its face value plus a nominal premium of Dh46. The commemorative one dirham coin will be put into circulation in accordance with the usual practice.
The Dh50 coin, that is an alloy of 92.5 percent silver and 7.5 percent copper, has a diameter of 4 mm and weighs 40 Gm. The other coin is an alloy of 75 percent copper and 25 percent nickel and weighs 6.4 Gm – Albawaba.com
