ALBAWABA - Iranian authorities announced on Wednesday that the death toll from the fire at the Argavan shopping center in Andisheh, west of Tehran, had risen to at least eight, with 36 others injured.
The head of the Red Crescent in Shahriar said that efforts are ongoing to rescue those potentially trapped inside the shopping center amidst the rubble and debris.
The fire erupted on Tuesday, leaving a large number of casualties, both dead and injured, as firefighters worked tirelessly to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading.
Iranian state media quoted the fire department as saying that the fire was under control and largely contained, while the Shahriar province confirmed at least three deaths.
