A French food company has been banned from supplying products to the UAE after traces of pork were found in its canned meat. The discovery was made in tests conducted at the Municipality's food testing laboratory, according to Gulf news.
The report did not name the company. Pork and all products made of pigs’ meat are prohibited in Islam.
Head of the Food Control Section, told the paper that "the municipalities routinely test imported food items and during one such random test it was found that canned meat products from a French company contained pork which was not mentioned on the label."
