Two US vehicles destroyed by blasts, 12 shot dead

A car bomb which exploded on Tuesday outside the Iraqi city of Fallujha, west of Baghdad, destroyed an American Humvee vehicle. The Humvee was completely destroyed in the attack, according to eyewitnesses. 

 

"A powerful blast caused by a car bomb struck a U.S. military patrol on the highway to the west of Fallujah, destroying a U.S. Humvee," one witnesses told Xinhua.  

 

Also on Tuesday, another US Humvee was destroyed when it was targeted by roadside bomb in the town of Ramadi, west of the capital. According to Ramadi residents, US soldiers opened fire following the attack, causing an unknown number of Iraqi casualties.


Elsewhere, an Iraqi policeman was killed Tuesday while two civilians were injured when unidentified gunmen opened fire towards them in Kirkuk, Kuna reported. Meanwhile, gunmen attacked a group of Iraqis working on a farm north of Baghdad on Tuesday, killing 11 and wounding two, a police chief and hospital official said.


The attack happened shortly before midday when unidentified armed men sprayed gun fire at a group of farm workers, the AP reported.
