Two US soldiers were killed and one injured late Wednesday in a firefight in Baghdad's Al-Rashid district, the US military said on Thursday.
"Two 1st Armored Division soldiers were killed and one wounded in a small arms firefight ... at approximately 11 p.m.(local time)," a Central Command statement said.
They were evacuated to a medical facility for treatment. The first soldier died immediately while the second died later of his wounds.
An interpreter was also wounded in the incident and received treatment at the medical facility. (Albawaba.com)
