An appeals court in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has upheld the death sentences of two nationals for raping an Egyptian woman, 28, at her home, newspapers reported Saturday.
The two men, identified only as Jasim M.G. and Rashid H.K., were found guilty of entering the woman's house, tying her up and raping her after her teacher-husband left for work one morning, Gulf News reported.
They were arrested within two hours of the rape in the northern emirate of Ras al-Khaimah and admitted the crime. Semen samples also matched. Execution will be by firing squad unless the UAE presidency intervenes and pardons the men. (Albawaba.com)
