Two Palestinians were killed in a blast in the Gaza Strip on Thursday, according to Palestinian sources.
Meanwhile, Palestinian sources said that Israeli undercover Border Police wounded two Palestinians in the West Bank city of Hebron. During this operation they arrested Tanzim member Hazen al-Kawasme, who is suspected of preparing explosive devices used in attacks against Israelis, according to Haaretz.
According to this report, al-Kawasme tried to escape, was shot and then taken to a hospital inside Israel for treatment. Two Palestinian residents who were standing nearby were wounded as well by the gunfire.
Palestinian sources said that Riad Khatab, from the Palestinian Authority Intelligence, died Thursday morning from wounds suffered after he was critically injured during the night, in an exchange of gunfire with Israeli troops in A-Tira in Ramallah.
In another development, Israeli security forces arrested ten Palestinians in the Bethlehem area Wednesday night. Israeli paratroopers with assistance from police forces arrested residents of the villages of Batir, Husan, Na'alin and al-Hadar.
Palestinian media reports claim that additional occupation troops had been deployed in the Jenin, Tulkarm, and Nablus areas and that tanks blocked the roads to these cities. Furthermore, side roads had been blocked with large amounts of earth.
Meanwhile, a female settler was lightly wounded in a shooting attack on her vehicle in the West Bank on Thursday morning.
Israeli sources said that Wednesday was the quietist day in the Palestinian territories since Israel's recent killing of Raed al Karmi, the Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigade activist. Following his death, a series of Palestinian revenge attacks have taken place. (Albawaba.com)
