Several hundred Turkish women demonstrated at the border with Iraq Sunday, urging the Turkish government not to back any US military action against Iraq, according to media reports.

The protest, organized by non-governmental organizations, involved around 300 civic activists from across the country and local Kurdish women.

"No to war," the women chanted. "Remember your humanity," one card read.

"We are against Turkey taking part in this war. We are against Turkey offering its air bases, ports and people to the service of the Americans," a spokesman for the demonstrators said. (Albawaba.com)
