Senegal’s Interior Minister Mamadou Niang reviewed possible security cooperation between his country and Tunisia during a visit to Tunis, official sources said Saturday.
In addition, Niang held talks with his Tunisian counterpart, Hedi M'henni on the fight against drug trafficking and international organized crime, the sources added.
They decided to establish a legal framework on bilateral cooperation covering security and civil protection, according to AFP.
Niang also had talks with Prime Minister Mohamed Ghannouchi and Foreign Minister Habib Ben Yahia. Moreover, the visit paved the way for a session of a mixed Tunisian-Senegalese cooperation commission.
The two countries are currently discussing the formation of a common strategy to advance tourism to increase their share of the European and North American market. Tunisia has recently suffered a drop in tourism, one of its major sources of income. (Albawaba.com)
