The German death toll in last week's powerful explosion outside a Jewish synagogue on the Tunisian island of Djerba reached 11, after a 15-year-old girl died of her injuries in a north German hospital, according to press reports in Berlin Thursday.
The girl died Wednesday evening as a result of her severe burns, doctors at the Luebeck University Hospital said.
Meanwhile, the condition of the victim's two sisters, aged 13 and 16 were stable. The condition of a 33-year-old woman still remains very critical.
A total of 17 people have died so far following last week's explosion.
The German Interior Ministry denied Wednesday media reports that they had received prior warnings with regards to the terrorist attack. Interior Minister Otto Schily called the claims "absurd and irresponsible".
The daily Bild, citing unnamed security sources, reported that the Federal Crime Office received warnings that extremists planned to kill tourists in Tunisia.
German authorities released two suspects over the past two days, saying there were no grounds for major suspicion against them. (Albawaba.com)
