Trend Micro, a leader in network antivirus and internet content security software and services, has announced that it has signed a new deal to supply thousands of applied education students in Kuwait with virus protection software.
Approximately 60 servers and 4,000 users at colleges and offices that form the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training (PAAET) – the Government organization which oversees applied education in Kuwait – will be supplied with Trend Micro’s Client Server Suite Enterprise Edition.
Mr. Ali Al-Ghanim, Director of the Computer Information Centre at PAAET, commented: “The goal of PAAET is to develop skills and manpower resources in order to fulfill the human resource needs of the Kuwait economy. With a student body spread across four colleges and several training institutes, comprehensive protection of our networks is a complex issue. Nevertheless, we are confident that the Trend Micro solution will meet these demands.”
The applied education sector in Kuwait includes four colleges, which offer basic education as well as specializations in business studies, technological studies and health sciences. There are also a number of institutes offering training in fields such as telecommunications, electricity and water, and other industries.
Due to a marked increase in computer hackers targeting governmental bodies, the implementation of the software solution has already begun at the colleges and at the PAAET Head Quarters in Kuwait, which is being overseen by Trend Micro’s Premium Partner in the country, Capricorn International Technology Group (CITG).
“The successful deployment at PAAET is a clear reflection of the excellent partnership between Trend Micro and Capricorn,” commented Nisar Khan, Channel Account Manager of Trend Micro in the Middle East and Africa.
“Trend Micro’s comprehensive and flexible partner program has been designed to take partner needs, and customer needs into account. The program helps businesses to succeed by providing the customised protection that technology customers require,” said Khan.
Ashraf Arafeh, IT and Projects Manager at CITG, added: “Security is the number one issue for the vast majority of organizations across the region and in an institution of PAAET’s size and complexity it is even more of a concern. With advanced, centralized management capabilities, Trend Micro’s Client Server Suite Enterprise Edition is the perfect answer, and can be deployed to create precisely the right mix of security and performance that an educational establishment requires.”
Client Server Suite Enterprise Edition provides a powerful, multi-layered defense against viruses and other malicious code. Trend Micro provides businesses and organizations in Kuwait and across the Middle East with multilayered antivirus and content security solutions that span the entire network environment, from gateways and servers to desktops and mobile devices.
