ATI Technologies Inc. (TSX: ATY, NASDAQ: ATYT), a world leader in the design and manufacture of innovative 3D graphics, PC platform technologies and digital media silicon solutions, together with graphics card manufacturer Connect3D, hosted a thrilling, fast-paced competition using the latest gaming technology at the Connect3D Clan Masters Premier PC Gaming Competition on August 24th and 25th, 2006 .
The region’s top gamers struggled for supremacy in two popular 3D action games; armed with some of the most advanced GPUs (graphics processing units) currently on the market, the ‘battle’ was faster and more realistic than ever before.
Rauf Baig, Managing Director of ATI Dubai, said, “This was one of the most successfully held and well coordinated gaming tournaments in the region; all gamers had an equal opportunity to prove their skills, and it gave us a window to show case the latest technology in the graphics industry with the Radeon ® 1900 XTX graphics cards.”

The event saw 40 teams battle it out over two days. The competition was fierce, but “A-List,” the premier team from Abu Dhabi, emerged as the tournament winner, while “Unreal”, a highly skilled team from Dubai, came second and “QTE” came up through the ranks for third place. Two teams from Ajman emerged as clear winners of the second portion of the tournament. “Tafjeer” and “Soo” conquered the top two positions, followed by “Destiny” from Dubai in third.
