Saudi security forces captured seven people suspected of links with Osama bin Laden's al-Qaeda network and killed an eighth in a raid in the Saudi capital that cost the lives of three security men.
According to AFP, the incident took place in the Al-Suwaidi residential district in the southern sector of Riyadh.
It is reported that special security forces raided a villa under construction where gunmen were holed up.
A saudi official told AFP that three security men were fatally shot when they came under fire from the gunmen in a shootout that preceded the storming of the extremists' hideout.
One of the seven detainees was seriously wounded, while another 10 presumed extremists fled from a rest house in the area during the shootout. (Albawaba.com)
